Classic Keepsake bear
"Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory" - Dr. Seuss |
At 14" sitting, 18" standing, our Classic Keepsake Bear can be constructed using all kinds of items. Perhaps dad’s shirt & tie or mom’s sweater. Childhood sports jerseys or graduation gowns. I carefully and lovingly design your bear using as many details as I can from your clothing items to preserve your precious memories. I use high quality notions, including movable arms and legs, safety eyes and noses, and hand stitch smiles to melt your heart. Please note that this item is a keepsake and not intended for play toy use by children. $110.00 Embroidery (+ $10) Consider adding special details like names, dates or messages to your bears foot. A bear paw can typically fit up to 32 characters so just keep that in mind. Special Clothing Details Hoping to include a specific detail from one of your items in to the bear? I'm happy to try and accomodate, just include a note on the order form and we'll chat it through. Although I can make a bear out of a single adult shirt, I prefer to have somewhere between 2-3 adult items or 3-5 childrens items in order to have enough material to coordinate ears, face & paws. For infant clothing, I recommend the Baby Memory Bear, which is smaller & requires 6-9 infant items (based on 3-6 month sizing.) Each bear takes on its own shape and personality largely based on the fabric used. Stretchy fabrics result in rounder shapes. I stabilize all fabrics with interfacing to control stretching and add durability to your bear. Suitable materials are cotton or cotton blends as in shirts or dresses. Knits such as t-shirts, sports jerseys. Pants, jackets, light sweaters, even a favorite blanket. I can use most anything except swimwear, leather, fur, bulky knits or super thick fabrics. If you have any question about an item you are considering using, please don't hesitate to reach out. I purposely do not operate like an online store because I like to have a conversation before starting construction on your special one of a kind keepsake. To start your order, simply click the button below and fill out the form. Once I have reviewed your order and clarified any questions, I will send through a confirmation email along with details of how to safely ship your items to my keepsake studio. You are responsible for the shipping of items to my studio, however shipping of your finished keepsake back to you is covered by me. When your items have been recieved, I will invoice you and give you an estimated finish date for your keepsake. I typically aim for a 3-4 week timeline. |
